Finally going to publish that book? Then you need an editor–because Grammarly isn’t enough.

No matter how many times you’ve read through your precious manuscript, I can guarantee you that there are still corrections and improvements to be made. I know–because I’m a writer, too–and I’ve been there.

Writing has always been my passion–and out of that passion, almost by default, grew a staunch conviction that, if you are going to write something that will be read by anyone other than yourself, then for Pete’s sake–make sure it is as clean and captivating as possible. No matter what you are writing–fiction, memoir, cover letter–if there are mistakes, or if the prose is stilted or unclear, the efficacy of your message decreases exponentially…as does the interest and trust of your audience.

That’s where professional proofreading and copyediting services come in.

I utilize the “track changes” function in MS Word, and my services include thorough review and revision of the following, depending on your needs: consistency (plot and word usage); minor revisions for impact and readability, flow and clarity; necessary corrections of grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Please note that I do not provide formatting services; I strongly suggest waiting to format until after any copyediting or proofreading is complete.

My copyediting experience includes everything from fantasy novels and historical fiction to autobiography, cookbooks, small business websites, and Young Adult nonfiction; my writing skills encompass personal essay and memoir (I have had two works published), fiction, and writing promotional copy/back cover copy for many books.

If you’re inclined, here is a link to one of my published essays.
